FileMaker Go 13 App Reviews

This is a great Software but please but there is an annoying warning when using this software offline. I work in a hospital an i use FM Go offline all the time. Now I don’t even want to turn the device on since I always have to answer the pointless question wether I want to turn on WLAN. It was the same in FileMaker Go 12. Other companies manage to program software without that warning. Please make it possible to disable and I’ll give you 5 stars.

There is little use for the new features of the 13th version and you have to pay again to connect to the server you already paid for! Keep your Filemaker Go 12 its much better.

Im not sure what the other reviewer was talking about (my server charged no extra fee to upgrade), i find fm 13 to be a huge upgrade. The popovers and hide-able objects have revolutionized my layouts. The theming upgrades will save me hundreds of hours in the future. While this applies more towards fm pro than fm go, Go is able to utilize and show off all these new features beautifully. Thanks to the dev team for making these changes!

I use a comprehensive database for my service business. My team uses iPads and iPhones. FM13 is a huge improvement. I just wish it supported windows rt natively

Love this product and how it extends the use of my databases!

This app is very useful for data collection on ipads. Use it successfully with the desktop software and has become a valuable tool for mobile staff. Hopefully there will be better synchronization with the desktop software and other standard databases soon.

As soon as I can sync my IOS devices to my desktop, Ill give it 5 stars.

Use it, love it, couldnt do my business without it! As a developer it still has some "glitchy" issues (error locked records that is resolved by restarting the iPad) and needs to be carefully developed for. However, bi-directional asynchronous communication with a server, generating reports in the field, capturing signatures, documenting client notes, invoicing, emailing, texting (and record what was sent), generate layered reports with a touch of s button, complex calculations, are all actively being done by mine and my clients businesses.

Its great to be able to access my FileMaker Pro databases on my iPad. Im assembling research for a book Im writing. I have my Pages outline open on my Mac and the research data I need on the iPad in my hand. Works great!

At last, I can work on my data bases with my iPad. I am proud of you FileMaker developers. Please continue your work. Jean-Luc

The various functions and user interface are excellent. Too bad I got the desktop version before the promotion. The two things I see missing is a way to synchronize updates made on desktop or iPad, without a long process of transfers to desktop, export open other copy import and then but back in my iPad. That I can do with other database from a windows background. And the other missing feature some design access that is available from other DB vendors. Support for iCloud? The product is excellent in what it offer but lack feature that could make it outstanding.

Great app. It is nice that now we can choose which type of ios keyboard Filemaker Go displays. However when there is a date it still shows as a default the wheel picker which is very slow to use (try yourself). I suggest two ways to improve this app: 1)Improve dates support: let the user choose if they want AS A DEFAULT (when there is a date) a numeric keypad (or better: a specific numeric keypad for dates with the / and - symbols), a monthly calendar with days of the week or the wheel picker (now used as a default) 2)add support to save and open database files on icloud drive, one drive, google drive and dropbox. This way we can have a copy of the file always updated on our mac/pc. (I know we can use the filemaker server but is not the same). Also add icloud support on ios 8 to make a backup of databases Thank you

Things like window management and object/field focus must be programmed differently for each platform (Windows, Mac and iOS); so, you basically have to build a separate interface for each. Otherwise very useful for quick deployment of FileMaker applications.

Way to often from hibernation opens a solution in a corrupted state. This can cause irreparable data corruption. Currently, the best way to avoid data corruption is to always completely close FM Go, before starting an FM solution. Close FM Go by double tapping the Home Button, find FM Go, then swipe it upwards.

With FileMaker I can easily build business solutions and deployed it to iOS devices in few seconds

I use FM Go to access my database remotely. It is fast and secure. For anything other than scripted tasks, I need to go to my Mac, since tools and menus dont show up on iOS, even with full permissions.

Been using FileMaker since beginning my customer ERP solutions run very well on this for our business
